Training & flight operations
The Airbus Helicopters Training & Flight Ops mission is to design and provide innovative training solutions to support our customers, which is key to enhancing operational safety. Efficient helicopter operations are directly linked to the proficiency of pilots, flight crew and technicians, as well as their ability to safely operate and maintain rotorcraft during a full range of conditions and missions.
Airbus provides complete training solutions at 20 training centres located around the world – from ab-initio up to recurrent training for pilots and technicians.
Some of these centres have state-of-the-art full-flight simulators equipped with Airbus Helicopters' OEM Sim Data Pack, which provides the most true-to-life experience possible. And many of them use full-scale mock-ups – offering trainees an experience like that on an actual aircraft.
Airbus trained around 8,000 helicopter pilots and technicians in 2019 worldwide, logging some 8,000 helicopter flight hours and 30,000 helicopter simulator hours during this activity.
