Airbus Helicopters’ multi-role twin engine H160 has been granted its type certificate by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), marking a new chapter for the programme.

Airbus Helicopters and Shell Aircraft have been working closely in order to put the H160 into service for offshore transportation.

The next-generation H160 is debuting a new air medical interior concept at this year’s Heli Expo trade show, with a cabin-mock up on the Airbus Helicopters booth completed by Metro Aviation.

The H160 wrapped up its customer demos with a last stop in Trenton, New Jersey.

The H160 flies by Lady Liberty on its New York City sightseeing trip before heading to Trenton, New Jersey to perform demo flights as part of its North American Demo Tour in May 2018.

During the Las Vegas leg of the H160 North American Demo Tour, a total of 12 flights were performed with 18 pilots and 42 customer representatives.

Airbus Helicopters has signed the first order for four ACH160s with an undisclosed, North American customer. The launch customer, a major US business entity with extensive experience in corporate aviation, has opted for one aircraft to be delivered in Stylence by ACH configuration, the in-house, private and business design product line; with the remaining three aircraft to be delivered in ACH Exclusive configuration, the select design product line which allows the highest level of customisation and bespoke craftsmanship.
