Romain Trapp is president of Airbus Helicopters, Inc. and head of the North America region for helicopters. He was appointed to the role in July 2019.
In this position, Romain is responsible for developing and executing the overall company strategy in the U.S. and Canadian helicopter market, managing the company’s resources, meeting key performance objectives, and overseeing the 1,000 Airbus Helicopters employees in the region.
Romain’s experience within Airbus spans more than two decades, where he has held various positions in finance, program management and general management throughout Germany, France, Canada and the U.S.
He has spent the last 11 years in North America for Airbus Helicopters, first in 2008 as CFO of Airbus Helicopters Inc., out of Grand Prairie, Texas, then President of Airbus Helicopters Canada since 2013. He became Airbus Helicopters Inc.’s Chief Operating Officer in 2016.
He graduated from France’s Ecole Normale Superieure and earned a master’s degree from the University Paris Sorbonne in finance, economics and econometrics. He is also a graduate from the Stanford Executive Program in California. He is happily married and has two grown sons.
